Lagos State Government Launched 4,000 Graduate Internship with N40,000 Monthly Allowance

Volunteering and internship is a rewarding effort to have the right connection for any students and graduates to build a successful career. This is what initiates the Lagos State Government to set up an internship programme for 4000 unemployed graduates under her employability programme to ease the damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the unrest that follows as a result of the youth demanding an end to police brutality which commenced with the ENDSARS protest.


According to the Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke, the Graduate Internship Placement Programme (GIPP) is designed to allow candidates to develop employability and work-ready skills that are needed in securing gainful employment.

The graduate internship programme will be addressing the third and fourth pillars of the present administration’s T.H.E.M.E.S agenda, which are Education and Technology and Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy.



  • Applicants must possess NYSC Certificates or letters of exemption.
  • Applicants must be registered residents of the State with Lagos State Residents Registration Agency, LASRRA.

  • Applicants will take an online test and employability skills for two weeks and evaluated.



  • The Graduate Internship Placement Programme is for six months, of which a monthly stipend of N40,000 will be paid for the duration of the internship.
  • The Graduate Internship Programme will provide valuable work experience, professional skills, and expose participants to entrepreneurial opportunities and interpersonal relationships.


The Graduate Internship Placement Programme is expected to play a major role in reducing the rate of unemployment in Lagos State. It will provide candidates, the opportunity to develop key skills that will boost their employability, in a bid to secure gainful employment.
